AirPort Express provides a way to set up your Wi-Fi network and share devices such as a printer or external hard drive on your network. Business users who want to move from a wired to a wireless network can do so by hooking up an AirPort Express to the already-established cable or DSL modem. Once set up, you can access the Internet anywhere within your office and send content to other employees as well as use the wireless capabilities of your mobile devices.

Setup

First lets unpackage the AirPort Express and hook it up. Plug your modem into the Ethernet port on the AirPort Express. Now plug the AirPort Express into a power outlet. Give the Base Station a.

Connect your AirPort Express with an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on your DSL or cable modem. If you have a printer you want to use on the network, plug the printer's USB or Ethernet cable into one of the available ports on the back of the AirPort Express.

Plug in your AirPort Express to a power outlet and power on any external disk drives or printers that you connected to the AirPort Express.

Click the Start menu and then select 'Programs' and 'AirPort Utility.'

Click on your AirPort Express from the Base Station Chooser window. Click 'Continue.'

Enter an AirPort Express Name and password into the appropriate fields and click 'Continue.'

Click the option to set up a new wireless network and click 'Continue.'

Select the option for 'WPA/WPA2 Personal' and enter in a network name and password in the appropriate fields. Click 'Continue.'

8.

Select the option to connect with a DSL or Cable modem and click 'Continue.' Then, select 'Update.' Wait for AirPort Express to restart and begin using the network.
