ATTENTION PEOPLE HAVING CORRUPTED DATA ISSUES
I too was having corrupt game save files and here is how I am working around the problem. I have already helped a few people so I know this works. Please spread the word. It might be too late if you are already corrupted but here is how to prevent it and also get past the error screen when booting.
-Before your file corrupts, go back it up on the PSN -How to check if your save file is already corrupted: PSN Hud > settings > application saved data management> saved data in system storage. Your BF4 save file will show a lightning bolt if corrupted and a Battlefield icon if not corrupted. If it is not corrupted this is your opportunity to take advantage of Sony's servers and ensure the safety if your data. (Don't back up corrupted data..) This part is pretty important and I hope anybody who gets error code CE-34878-0 reads this before doing anything when encountering the error. IF IT SAYS ERROR CE-34878-0 DONT RESTART BATTLEFIELD OR IT WILL CORRUPT YOUR DATA* I don't know why but it seems to be the loading process NOT the saving process that corrupts the data which seems pretty weird but its definitely the case as I've checked it a few times now to be certain. If you get the error while playing quit the game immediately by checking the save status of your file to make sure its not corrupted, it will ask you to quit the application, say yes. Now, check your data, all good? Back it up now on the PSN servers. Now that its backed up launch Battlefield BUT start mashing your X button. Continue to mash X until your through the loading screen and you are going to keep doing it until you're joining an online match. I know this sounds weird but had you not mashed X and gotten here, you would get a popup saying corrupted data. And it would make your game crash about 5-10 seconds in.
Since the latest PS4 system software update it appears there’s been a spate of new reports from users struggling to boot up games. Well, there are a few things you can try to fix PS4 disc issues before you resort to calling up Sony Customer Services and sending it in for a service.
Below, you’ll find a number of potential fixes. We’d recommend you do these in order, testing each time to see whether the issue has been resolved.

– Turn off the PS4. Unplug the power cord and remove all cables (HDMI etc). Wait 30 seconds. Turn it back on. Insert disc and try again. Yes…it’s the old turn-it-off-and-turn-it-back-on method. Just make sure you do remove all cables and leave sufficient time before you boot back up.

– Are you booting up your PS4 in Rest Mode? Don’t. Shut it down fully, boot it up and then insert your PS4 game disc.
– Your game data could be corrupt. Delete the game, including save data and then insert the disc and re-install. Remember, you will lose your save data. If you’re okay with that, then go for it. Otherwise we suggest you ring Customer Services.

– Rebuild the database. Fully turn-off the PS4 and unplug the cord. Put the cord back in and hold down the power button until you hear a second beep. This will put it into SAFE mode. Select option 5 to rebuild the database. This method scans the PlayStation 4 drive and creates a new database of all content. It works in the same way that you defrag your PC. Do not turn the PS4 off while you’re rebuilding the database. This could take some time.
– If nothing has worked, you should send your PS4 in for a service. You should check out the PlayStation Support page to find the relevant number in your country.
