Sometimes there’s nothing better than stuffing a few clothes into a bag and going away for a few days to shut everything out. Stress can creep up on you after a while, so it’s important that you take it easy whenever you get the chance. On top of that, it’s also nice when you manage to spend time with your friends, especially on some kind of trip or adventure.

The Last Weekend is a role-playing game with visual novel and adventure elements that invites you to witness the story of four friends going away for a weekend in order to relax and have a good time. There are some mature themes in there as well, so the game is certainly not suited for minors, but the overall experience is not necessarily about sex.

As such, you can choose any of the four characters as your alter ego, depending on how you like to approach the story. They each have different personalities and goals, so it should be a blast to replay the experience multiple times and see how everything changes once you play as someone else. Granted, the overall plot is not that strong, but it’s not as important as in an actual adventure game.

Solve mini-games and talk with the other characters

One of the most important aspects of the game is the dialog itself, because that’s your main activity most of the time. Thus, you can get closer to some of the characters and even get into various kinky stuff with them, depending on how much you are willing to pursue the issue. However, there’s quite a bit of plain-old talking as well, just in case you happen to be more reserved.

As for the graphics, the artwork is quite decent, even if there’s nothing special about it. Thus, most environments are quite detailed, except maybe for the rooms and the hallways in the hotel, given the fact that they look pretty barren at the moment. Granted, more stuff may be added until the final version is released. Thankfully, at least the characters are pretty nice and feature all sorts of facial expressions and poses.

A relaxing experience with the occasional naughty scene

In the end, The Last Weekend is the perfect choice for those who want to relax a bit and maybe get into something naughty as well. There’s no disturbing or traumatizing imagery in there, on the other hand, so it’s certainly not a product designed for a niche market.
