Thank you for your help.
I follow your link to download and run the media creation tool. I have two options 'Upgrade this PC now' or 'Create installation media...for another PC'. I try both to no avail. The option to keep my files and programs are grayed out regardless which option I chose (see attached). I call MS customer support and have been told that I can't keep my programs and personal files because of software incompatibility issue. If this is the case, why I was able to upgrade two old PCs (4 years old Core i3 and 7 years old Xeon) from Windows 7 pro sp1 to Windows 10 Pro v 1511 (had an old version Windows 10 on an USB flash) about 6 or 8 month ago and miraculously keeping the same program without any issue?
For unknown reason, I am unable to replicate the same experience with a year old, AIO Core i5 Lenovo. Any idea or explanation for the cryptic windows message << Your files, apps and settings can't be kept because you're installing an edition of Windows that's different than the one you're using.>>?
FYI, I already try to use the v 1511 usb stick on the Lenovo and still experience the same issue.
